Wiccan Rede
Which teaches a more peaceful way to live, the ten commandments or the Wiccan Rede?
Atheist, I must disagree with you, I don’t see how keeping the sabbath and not praying to idols qualify as a moral code.
They serve different functions. The 10 Commandments is a moral code, the Wiccan Rede is an ethical code.
Frankly, both reduce right and wrong to the status of a “sound bite” and are therefore limited in the actual “help” they can provide when making ethical and moral decisions. It doesn’t matter if it is “WWJD” the 10 Commandments, or the Wiccan Rede, morality and ethics should be driven by something more than a slogan on a bracelet.

The quality of being in accord with standards of right or good conduct.
A system of ideas of right and wrong conduct
The 10 Commandments is the very definition of a moral code. Morality is proper behavior. A religious moral code would have religious moral standards.
The Commandments are, for some, the systematic standard by which good and bad are judged. They have little to do with ethics which more the philosophy behind morality.
A list of “don’ts” is morality, a philosophy about how to choose right and wrong is ethics.
Either way, it doesn’t change my point. Moral and ethical codes are more involved than a slogan.
