Treasured Earth

Lush and verdant forest gorge
cauldron of cloud, suns molten forge
lichen painted murals on weather-worn stone
elemental scouring sculpts earthen bone
strands of glittering crystal enlace
riverbed wrinkles upon the earths face
tumbled rocks shatter the liquid swirls
scattering shards of soapy pearls
writhing waterfalls spume sprays of gold
from Nature’s beauty springs wealth untold
riches of the soul no money can buy
jewels only captured in minds eye
fleeting as the tide it ebbs and flows
caught in memory’s fond repose.
I’ve never been good at punctuation! he he so yes I can see that as a valid complaint, I shall add some as you suggest. Thanks!

BG.. indeed I don’t think a poet can hate nature and still be a poet. Where I live the rocks are so beautiful if I could I would have posted some pics I’ve taken of lichen patterns on the rocks.. they are just beautiful!

A beautiful rendering of our Mother Earth. I absolutely loved the first half of the poem, from “Cauldron of cloud,” to “Shards of soapy pearls.” Our earth is a wondrous treasure, and we have spurned it. If most nations would kill over a gift refused, we can only imagine how God must feel. One of my favorites from you.

My only complaint here is the lack of proper puncuation. I feel like there should at least be commas at the end of a few lines. For instance:

elemental scouring sculpts earthen bone(.)

My changes are in parenthesis. Just a suggestion. How you choose to run with this is your choice. Either way, well done.
