What are some ways to create a fake stone wall of the castle on a movie set?

It's for a movie of Harry Potter fans I'm doing and I'm on a budget. I'm thinking of concrete or grout into the top of the foam panels. Any other suggestions intelligent?

I made great stone walls, brick castle outside my house by "sealing" a very large cardboard box with a big sponge normally used for washing of a car … I can not remember what type of paint I used in the sponge, just something that would be fine outside. First, paint the entire bottom of the wall, a gray sorta dark. Then cut the sponge a bit so there would be less smooth and edges slightly differently, and dipped in a light gray paint on a plate, then seal each brick / stone at the bottom with spaces between (such as mortar "). You can use any combination of colors though. to the age and" dirty "the castle walls, I used some flat black spray paint lightly blow here and there on the stones in a random pattern. You could also do that with some of green moss, etc, or maybe some brown too. If you need even more "texture" in their individual stones, could use a color slightly darker (from "stone"), then skip the color here and there on the stone with a little crumpled plastic wrap. If he wanted a more irregular stones, you can use several large sponges cut into different shapes. You can also make larger stones using some type of foam flat rubber for the basic shape of the stamps, then glue (white glue permanent) to a plywood board or as large as at least as large for pressed to turn them into stamps. I did mine the way it did because it was really fast and cheap, but my son has used a huge staff in his department high school theater., then spray painted or with a sponge or brush painted inside every stone "of openness. It could also be a template or two for each stone and each few stones … or maybe something similar can borrow at a high school with a good drama department or a community theater, etc. (I think the concrete / mortar / plaster / etc., would be more problems and also is heavier and is likely to crack. . . some of that spray foam insulation may be a possibility though???, then paint over it.) Regarding funding, it would be better to go with great insulation board from Home Depot, etc, so not too heavy. Yet one could also do so in a bed sheet size, then hang it on a board. Good luck!
