How can you raise critical reading scores in one day?
I am going to take the PSAT tomorrow and I really need to raise my critical reading. I took the practice test that comes with the PSAT booklet and got CR – 59, M – 80, WR – 80. Is there any way you can raise your scores in under one day?? Also, how much do scores usually raise from sophomor to junior year? (I’m a sophomore)
There’s not a ton you can do in one day. I would focus on doing a good review of the critical reading sections of the tests you took (you can find the explanations at collegeboard). Then I would get a good night’s sleep and try to relax tomorrow.
Obviously after you take the PSAT tomorrow, there are things you can start doing to prepare for next year’s PSAT and the SAT, and I’m tempted to answer, but I think you’re better off without too much to think about when you take the test. (Feel free to ask again after the test, and I’ll give you a more complete answer!)
For most people scores do tend to go up between the sophomore and junior PSATs, but it varies a lot. If you spend more time preparing next year than you did this year, then your score will almost definitely go up.
